This piece was created as a graduation present for Joe Jackson, a writer and close friend whose favorite book was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The drawing is inspired by a photograph of Johnny Depp who played in the movie. Depp's face has been replaced with that of Joe's best friend and roommate Matt Adams, and instead of a typewriter and a suitcase two cases of Bud Light. The drawing was created not only to inspire Joe in his future writings but to remind him of the years that we all spent on Isthmus Court, the street in Mission Beach, San Diego that many of my friends and I lived on through college.
